These are from my personal IP (hoping to create a comic of it in the future and pitch it to a video game studio). They were created during the first month of a two month mentorship with concept artist Anthony Jones and his mentorship program at RobotPencil for Character Design.
Stage 01: Black and White Block-ins of Characters.
I was trying to find the feel of the world. This ended up being too fantastic but I enjoyed trying to get my ideas out onto digital “paper” and see another possibility for the world.
Stage 02: Black and White Block-ins of Characters –Continued.
This is where I started to more accurately visualize the world of Hipster Vampire Hunters. I wanted their weapons to be more realistic, everyday objects that could be found and turned into weapons to fight the vampires. The added “thumbnails” really helped me to find the world I was looking for.
Stage 03: Final Color Concepts:
I took some of the black and white concepts and brought them to full color. I also added some more characters as I finally had a clear vision of them and the world they live in. In particular I had a clearer vision of the vampires. The young vampires were mostly human in appearance and wore heavy metal/punk fashion while the older vampires were less human and their fashion was more gothic and high fashion.
